In my last letter I told you that I would try to procure such a letter of invitation as you wanted to have. In the meantime I had the opportunity of talking to Professor Krueger about the matter and he consented to have the invitation issued. The letter will be mailed directly from the Music Department. Kindly let me know when it arrives!

Miss Tilly prepares a concert and I have to wait ’til that is over.

Dear Mr. Scelsi,

I hope you got my letter in order, but I am somewhat concerned about your long silence. The invitation Professor Krueger sent you upon my suggestions also remained unconfirmed. Please, let me know whether it arrived and what your plans are! In the meantime, I had an opportunity of speaking to Miss Tilly. She said she and her co-artists will be glad to have some of your chamber music. They will read it and see whether it fits into their program, and you may also send things that are not published nor printed.

I have misplaced your letter. Could I have Countess Zogheb’s address again? Just in case. My wife and I are suffering from a bad case of protracted bronchitis and we have to work very hard, things are not quite easy. But all this is of minor importance, in view of the general tragedy all over the world.

I often think with profound gratitude of yours and your mother’s charming hospitality in 1936. Tempi felici passati per jammai! [Bygone happy times!].
